Emory Goizueta Executive MBA
The Goizueta Business School of Emory University was founded in 1919. The school was named after the late Coca-Cola CEO Roberto C. Goizueta. The Goizueta School offers an Executive MBA program for students already in the workforce. Students can focus on concentrations within their degree, including accounting, consulting, finance, general management, marketing, and international business. Goizueta offers a mentorship program for students in which they are matched with alumni in their specific area of focus. Classes are most often taught through case studies, lectures, and experiential learning.
The Weekend Executive MBA program (WEMBA) holds classes every other Friday and Saturday. WEMBA students often are far along in their career, with an average 13 years of work experience before they are admitted to Goizueta. Students can complete the Emory program within 21 months. After orientation, students complete five terms. Courses include financial accounting and reporting, managerial finance, marketing management, organizational behavior and leadership, and brand management. Students can also take optional electives as well. In addition to the Weekend program, Emory also offers a Modular Executive MBA program (MEMBA), which can be completed in 20 months. This program is for students who can attend nine residencies over the two-year period. MEMBA begins with an orientation and immersion week, and then is followed with the residencies. The curriculum is similar to the WEMBA program.
Outside of the classroom, students can utilize the campus’ research institutes, like the Social Enterprise Center, the Marketing Analytics Center, and the Center for Alternative Investments. Many students choose to complete internships with companies like Citi, Georgia-Pacific, The Coca-Cola Company, Amazon, and JP Morgan. There are also more than 30 student-run organizations on campus for students to get involved in. The Goizueta Advanced Leadership Academy (GALA) promotes individual and team leadership. Clubs include the Entrepreneur Club, Microfinance Club, the Core Values Council, and the Graduate Business Association. With 17,000 Goizueta alumni, students can rely on a strong network once they’ve completed the program.
